Use and properties of a snow and mud rescue tie
Rescue cable ties are the best substitute for iron chains in the event of getting stuck in a snowy or muddy area from which we cannot get out, thanks to the ease and speed of installation and a much cheaper price.
For a correct application of the rescue cable ties we will need between 5 and 6 cable ties for each drive wheel (they can also be applied to wheels without traction). They are installed in 6 easy steps:
- Pass the cable ties through the inside of the rim, inserting the part where the fastener is first.
- The spiked part must be visible on the wheel.
- Make sure that the spiked part points upwards and not towards the wheel.
- Once the spiked part is on the wide part of the wheel, close the flange and tighten it.
- The part that closes the flange must remain on the outer side of the wheel.
- If possible, cut off the excess part of the flange closure.
The cable ties must be very close to the wheel, they must not be under tension because they can break and stop doing their job.
⚠ Their application is only necessary in emergency cases where the vehicle is stuck in mud or snow. Any use in good road conditions can be dangerous.
